I have a Britony combi boiler which has started to lock out when the hot water is run. When you re-set it, it thens ignites ok, but if left for w hile the problem re-occurs. the same happens if the heating is turned on. I have found that if you run the water for a couple of seconds then turn it off and on again, it ignites as normal. Any ideas?

Most likely to be sludge in the central heating side of the boiler - a common problem. Needs a powerflush including the primary side of the hot water part of the boiler.
