Loft conversion from chipbord

a friend is getting a loft conversion done(picture attached) however should the shell be ply rather then chipboard?

That looks like OSB rather than chipboard; perfectly OK in that situation.

Would OSB have a lifespan on a dormer or should it last for ever?

(Obviously not forever but you know what I mean)

Everything has a life span, i don't think OSB is less than ply if it's kept dry.
