Loft flooring

I am hoping to put down some flooring in my loft to act as extra storage space. When I went in the loft I found that the joists are 7.5cm in depth but the fibre glass loft insulation running between the joists is 150mm. Is it possible to lay the floor on the joists and compress the insulating material down or can this cause me problems? What are my other alternatives? Cheers

that should be ok to do that make sure you where mask and dont nail throu any wires when up there.
