Hi,

Just adding extra insulation to the loft. There is about 60mm of existing insulation there already between the joists, however it sits about 50mm below the height of the joist.

I've bought 200mm stuff to top it up with. Should I go along the joists on top of the existing stuff or go across them, even tho it'll leave a small gap between the layers. Or best go across and just stuff it down as best I can ?

Unfortunately i'm in Northern Ireland so what's £3 a roll to you is £15 over here and 24 rolls are needed to cover the loft. So adding more on top again is going to be too expensive, so I want to make the best of what I have !

Thanks !
Mark
