Hi,

Ihave a loft which is loosely insulated to a depth of approx 10cm. Is this deep enough or should I fit some more?

B&Q have some really cheap stuff so thought I may add some more to help in the winter

Should be min of 270mm

That's just an arbitrary Gov figure.

Insulation benefits decrease significantly once you put down 200 mm. If it's really cheap however and you have the space, put down all you want whilst leaving ventilation into the loft open.

If you're a British gas customer, give them a ring.

They will install some for free.

I think you have to meet a criterea, but they will explain all that to you.
