Loft Joist Insulation Wires

Hi
i live in a bungalow & want to board out my loft. However there are quite a lot of electric cables running over the insulation & over the joists where should I re-route these to.

Try and avoid burying your cables in insulation. The best solution I found was fixing lengths of 2x1 on top of all the joists, leaving gaps where the cables traverse, then laying the boards on top. Your cables are not trapped and you don't have to notch the (already thin) joists.
