Loft rafters

Hi there,

This is the first time I have completed a forum so please bare with me...

We have a old three storey house and the top level has been converted into 2 separate bedrooms which have eaves at the side (hence a slight loft area), Currently they have little insulation and my partner wants to put celotex 165mm (xr4165), it is really expensive and I wonder if there is an alternative... He does not want to put loft insulation role in and is wanting a v value of 0.02. Can anyone advise of any other options....

This is typically what you would do in this situation, a couple of layers of mineral wool with Celotex or similar PIR in the vertical wall:
