I'd like to put shelving up in my loft to increase effective storage space.
The way i'd like to do this is to screw batterns to the trusses and end wall to support each side of the shelves along their length.

What i really need to know is if this is a sound idea, and if the trusses can take a little extra weight in this way?

The house is a mid '90s timber-framed semi.
Each shelf may have a maximum loading of 30Kg.
There will be a maximum stack of 3 shelfs.

Thanks for any help/advice :)
