Hi All,

Newbie here.

I need to insulate and ventilate the loft on the house I have just bought. I will put sofffit vents in and was going to put vents in the gable ends.

There is a redundant chimney stack running through the centre of the house and out through the loft. Can I simply put some air bricks in the top of the stack to help ventilate the loft? I have the bottom of the stack ventilated to stop moisture build up where the old fire place was and there is a heck of a draw on that.

I guess if I put soffit and gable vents in, I can always add them if I get condensation.

Any advice on vents in gable ends? Air bricks or more like a shower extractor system, but with louvre vents rather than extractor fan?
