I'd welcome a little advice off anyone who may have done this before. Diagram and photo attached to help explain. Basically it's a victorian semi and i want to convert the loft and remove the queen post trusses, i.e. the vertical and diagonal parts. I know steel will be used but i'm just wondering where the steel will go. Under ridge? Under purlins? Also does the floor have to come off the steel or can i just sit new joist on the existing tie beams and put wall plates on the other ends?

Thanks. all advice appreciated.
