I'm about to build a 6m x 3m log cabin with a fair roof overhang, from a kit, onto a concrete slab.

The instructions say "When the wall bearers have been properly assembled, screw the bearers into the foundation with anchor screws."

Is this a good idea? The fixings will be very close to the slab edge and I'm concerned it might crack, advice appreciated.

Thanks for the replies, having asked the product supplier, they advised me that the instructions are general to the global market, with the fixing down of bearers being appropriate for areas subject to high winds.
