We are putting a 'cloakroom' in the north west corner of our timber bungalow. A soil pipe runs along just outside the north wall to a shallow manhole outside the north west corner. The problem is that the outlet from a close coupled or low level WC in the cloakroom would run under the corner of the house if it ran straight to the manhole - not a good idea.
I believe one ugly solution would be a stub stack inside the cloakroom, into which both the WC and basin branches could run? It would look smarter to take the outlet from the WC (S trap)down through the floor then out through the footings, and break open the existing soil pipe with a 45deg junction, but could the outlet from the basin waste go straight down through the floor and join the WC outlet somehow? It would be a bit more than 1.7m long. Or, could the outlet from the S trap come forward under the WC, and bend round(!) to the manhole, so avoiding the corner of the house?! Any advice would be very welcome.
