Hi guys, my bathroom tub tap cover keeps becoming very loose and it is a pain to turn hot water off as the cover has become so loose. I have tightened the screw several times and still after use it becomes loose and back to square 1.

Any tips on how to secure this very firm or will I have to replace the whole tap to get a permanent fix? I was thinking maybe plumbers tape??

Have attached a picture to make things easier to explain, whole thing turns around

Can you extract the screw and look at the condition and the condition of where it’s tightening onto, as it could be knackered.

Screw looks good, inside looks eroded. Have attached images. Also tried tightening screw, it only tightens to a decree then stops and just doesn't accept the screwdriver tightening anymore!

Advice would be appreciated

You'll maybe want to take the cover off at sometime in the future to get at the cartidge if it needs replacement, so I definitely wouldn't glue it into place. If you can tighten the grub screw sufficiently to secure the cover (but then it works loose) I would use Loctite Threadlock (not glue) on the grub screw threads. That should stop it working loose but still allow you to unscrew it in the future (albeit with some difficulty).

I am confused as you have jumbled all bits of info everywhere lol.

Have decided will not bother and will just replace the whole tap as the screw refuses to tighten to the maximum and screwdriver pops out

Hi guys, have a different issue but just posting on this thread as its plumbing related.

My outside tap is leaking when I turn the tap on for the hose pipe. Do i need a new connector that is on the tap?

It's possible if that's where it's emanating from, but the tap is wet above, so check the gland nut

I took the hose and connector off and left the connector on the tap on, it doesn't leak, as soon as I connect the hose with the 2 connectors it leaks. So i think the tap connector is fine, something to do with connector on hose.

Do i need to replace it?

Could be, you could try a washer, but for the price of majority of them probably best to replace

Would appreciate mate the exact names of products, i might as well changed the whole setup from the tap connector to the hose connector point so it cancels out all possible issues.

A set in a pack would be perfect!

Would appreciate any recommendations preferably from amazon!

Just search on Amazon for hose connectors, I have just done that and there's plenty to choose from

Hi guys, have another issue. Bathroom sink inside drawer shelf support plastic supports have snapped off. I have attached an image of them to make explaining easier. Is there a better alternative to these or are these the best ones?
