The only time I use plastic pipe in screed floors is when I run continuous lengths with no joins in the screed.

I then always put the plastic pipe inside the plastic conduit as well, so the only way there could be a leak would be if there was a manufacturing defect.

If this was the case the conduit would still hold the leak as well as protecting it from the screed.

The plastic pipe could then be replaced without disturbing the screed.

But then this costs money to install like this
