Hi Folks,
First post here so be kind....
Recently my neighbour replaced the mains pipe from the street to his house. Around the same time, I have lost pressure in my house.
I have a lot of flow, same as usual, but no pressure. (If that makes sense?) I can block the tap with my thumb without much of a fight, before this was not possible. The sprinkler would normally reach about 10-12ft in the air, it now barely musters 4.
If you block a tap or hose with your thumb, when you let go there is a "burst" of water and then it reduces.
I've been told this could be a blocked cartridge in the pressure reducing valve. Where would this be situated? I have found the main tap in the house but that is all there is - a tap. Nothing else. Right after the tap there is a T for the washing machine so I doubt it would be downstream of this. Would it be outside? Is there a "normal" place it is put?
My house is about 50-60 years old and to my knowledge, has had no plumbing work done on it.
Thanks in advance
Cheers,
Crispin
