Borrowed a Skype phone off my son. Seems to work OK but as soon as plugged in the phone becomes default speakers.
Any games stop making sounds as do any videos run even when I change back to speakers in programs options.
Unplug and sound returns straight away.
Philips VOIP 3212S is this normal or have I got something unusual. Normally set Skype to ring on main speakers but once answered goes through head set.
Likely I will just give it him back but just interested as to likely cause or cure.

I usually give new phones to my grandkids to set up for me. They're quite au fait with modern technology. Much more so than I am.
;) ;) ;) ;)

I have given up and will only use Skype direct with head phones or with mobile. VOIP seems a dead loss when phone needs computer running to work and messes up sound on computer. I think there are models that work direct from LAN seems this would be way to go. However I only have one friend who uses Skype to make audio contact and better direct on PC as web cam then works too.
Plus not sure how I can type messages with phone so really dead loss.
