Just in case some do not go back and read old posts, here is the answer to my question (4 questions ago).
It seems COG was right, it was the pump BUT there is a small tiny box attached to the heater tank that switches the heating pump on (sorry, too technical to remember the name of the gizmo).
It is believed that once that is fixed the pump will work once more.
