Loud Buzzing Noise From Cylinder Driving Us Crazy!!!

My latest update on this saga is that Boxt have asked me to find a local trusted heating engineer for a quote to fix this issue (as they can't find someone available themselves).
Local heating engineer came round yesterday.

He said:

1: As many people on this thread are saying, that a flow valve needs fitting to reduce the flow going through the cylinder. I guess this should have been fitted when the original installation was done in Feb 2025. What I don't understand is why it took about 6 months to start getting noisy.

The rest of the work that needs doing is as a result of the shoddy work the bloke did that came to replace the cylinder a few weeks back:

2: Both motorised valve heads damage : so both complete zone valves to be replaced.

3: The cylinder thermostat has not been fitted properly (namely, there is still a slither of foam between the thermostat and the cylinder metal), hence the readings are haywire and the hot water, scalding hot.

4: As part of the job, flush the system through.

5: New bathroom towel rail TRV to be replaced as currently on the lowest setting, it gets scalding hot.

I am currently awaiting his quote, so I can present to Boxt.

He has already told me that he wants me to pay for job and for me to later claim through Boxt, as he's had bad experiences getting money out of these big companies. Can't say I blame him there to be honest but hoping I'm not going to get a load of grief trying to claim the money from Boxt.

Anyone got any ideas how much this job will cost, out of interest. Just want to make sure I've got the funds to pay for this work before I claim from Boxt?

Many thanks to all that have contributed to this thread. The info has been invaluable and very helpful.

I don't think BOXT can be held accountable for all of it... Unless they changed rad valves?

But they are boiler slingers...
