louvre doors for ventilation

Are louvre doors ecceptable to be used for ventilation for cooling perposes to a gas boiler room or should high and low ventilation be fitted?

Meaning, should their be a certain distance between high and low ventilation?

Why not tell us what your problem is?

In the meantime, the makers ask for high and low. Thats because they are simple and imagine a wall with two openings one high and one low.

Of course a louvre panel has openings all over it.


But British Gas have a reputation for not accepting louvre panels as acceptable.

Even so it would only normally be classed as Not to Current Standards!

Cant see why you cannot use lovured door in place of hi and lo vents.

Where louvred doors provide ventilation then the total area measured across
the minimum dimension of the slots should not be less than the sum of the
required high and low level requirements.

FRom BS 5440- 2:2000. 5.2.2.1. check it out.

Apertures in louvres must have the minor dimension not more than 10mm or less
than 5mm

A lot of 'louvre' doors aren't properly louvred; they're just decorative and would not offer sufficient ventilation (or be easily provable to do so).

What boiler is it? Most of boilers don't require ventilation.

Can someone confirm what ventilation is required for a paramount three 115kw gas boiler.

It says refer to BS6644 2005 for boilers above 70 kW net for further details.

I do not have access to this document regulation and would appreciate some help.

The OP posts lots of questions about boilers and make me wonder if he is getting involved in aspects which should be dealt with by an RGI !
