Hi,

I have a 16 year old Megaflow pressurised system - installed when the house was built.

The hot water pressure has dropped slowly over the last few days. If having a shower the pressure is very low for the first few minutes and gradually improves but never gets up to normal pressure.

After looking in the airing cupboard, I found that the expansion vessel has a very slow leak - see attached photos.

Would this cause the problem, or is it a coincidence?

Thanks in advance.

Coincedence, thats the expansion vessell for the heating system water, does not affect tap water.

Does the pressure issue happen at hot taps on their own aswell? if so then might be worth getting someone to check out the megaflow as the valves could be getting choked up (if its unvented it should be checked by a qualified person)

If its only the shower it might well be the shower mixer thats restricting the flow

Thanks.

Unfortunately, the pressure issue happens on all hot taps on their own!

The megaflow problem sounds expensive! Can you give me an idea what issues the plumber may find - and an idea of costs?

I will find a local plumber qualified to work on megaflows.
