I want to install central heating but have a problem, we are installing a woodburner which will heat the central heating, our water comes from a borehole and the pressure is terrible (it only just comes out of the sink mixer tap) so we need to put the expansion tank in the loft but how can I get the water up there, I have looked at the different pumps but I am now more confused than ever, a neighbour has fitted central heating with a 2 pumps and when the tank is full and the ballcock cuts off the water it then runs back down the supply pipe and he then gets air in the pipe!! any suggestions/help greatly appreciated.

The neighbour should fit a non return valve immediately after the pump.

If your heating is to be open vent then it needs to be topped up just about 2 litres per month. You can do that with a bucket!

Initial filling is about 100 li and thats just a few buckets full.

Your neighbours setup, although it works, is not ideal.
You would be better spending some money fixing out the problem with the borehole to give a decent water supply which will also benefit the rest of your house.
As you are obviously sharing the supply with a neighbour(s) the cost would not be great if shared.
Speak to a local plumber who has knowledge of such things for more advise.

Just an after thought: your house, apart from drinking water, must obviously be tank fed so how does that fill?
