I had a triton t80xr which worked fine for a couple of years. It then started playing up ie. low pressure light coming on and water cold until it decided not to give me any water. I had the shower replaced with the same make and model. I saw that it was working fine however the next day when I went to take a shower in the morning NO WATER and the light came on again. the plumber came out and checked shower working perfectly hot water etc. checked with water board they said that if pressure ok at first tap then water fine. So I now have a shower that will not work at 7am but works the rest of the time (later in the day). I think the water board turn down the pressure at night. The plumber says that in order to check the main stop tap outside in my garden he will have to dig up path as we had block paving put down and he said if might need to change pipe. this would be costly. Any ideas.

Your plumber was right on the last occasion.

Shame he didn't take the necessary measurements before he changed the shower.

You could fit a hydraulic accumulator but the water main option would most likely be cheapest.

Before embarking on the main renewal you need a decent plumber to ascertain the flow rate and static pressure, and get advice from your water supplier about the pressuure and flow rate achievable at the demarcation point, the outside stopvalve.

thanks it all sounds very technical. so can it be that suddenly the water pressure to my home has changed early morning. this morning I had no water to shower at 7am but it worked at 8.30. I don't think the water supplier will come out to check anything. So it looks like its a plumber. In all fairness my plumber did say that it was a pressure problem when he first came. He did offer alternatives such as fitting a water tank or a shower off the boiler. Any other suggestions or is it dig up path.

I assume as you say your plumber offered you the option of fitting a tank that you have a combination boiler for your hot water supplies is that correct?
