M1 or M6

Hi people,

I'm travelling to Stoke tomorrow from just under London. Do you recommend I take the M25/M1 or M25/M40/M6???

I recently went to Milton Keynes and there were so many road works on the M25 and the M1 that i'm thinking of using the other route but for all i know they'll be roadworks there too!

Anyone who used these roads regularly would be of great help.

we think we'll be leaving about 10am although we might change our minds and leave about 5am-6am... so indecisive!!

Do it quite frequently for surrey to stoke.

I find best way is M25/ M1 junc 24(ignore where it says to come off at 23a)/ A50. Take just under 3hrs in the van to get to Leek that way. Few roadworks with average speed cameras on so watch them.
M25/M40/M42/M6/A500/A50 is pretty much the same but a few miles further!
