Been decorating my niece's bedroom and we haven't used all the paste we made up - we've got loads left over - how long would it keep? Intend doing the living room next but maybe not for a week or two

A decent quality paste will last a few weeks (sometimes longer) if you keep it covered and store it somewhere cool, ideally in an airtight container but a bucket with some cling film over the top will be fine for that amount of time. Bear in mind that different types of wallpaper will require different dilutions of the paste so it may not be suitable for your next job anyway - you can add water if it needs to be made thinner but can't add extra flakes to make it thicker. It's only a couple of quid a pack so, if you are unsure, just mix a new batch.
