Hi everyone newbie here,

I have come across the above boiler and its giving me a headache, the boiler will fire up on central heating and run as per normal until you open hot water tap, upon opening hot water tap the boiler shuts down and will not heat hot water,PROBLEM 1

Then when you switch of hot water tap and expect central heating to fire up again it does not (fault 60` low pressure/pump)PROBLEM 2,

I had noticed that the diverter pin was not reaching the microswitch and therefore not firing up heating. I had replaced diverter as it was leaking anyway.

You can get it to fire up if you give the filling loop a quick blast, which seems to move pin up and hey presto the central heating fire up.

Spoke to potterton and they said sometrhing was blocked causing low pressure, so i proceeded to remove both heat exchangers pump housing and associated pipe work, cleaned out and refitted, still not working.

So my question is does ANYBODY HAVE AN ANSWER TO THIS BLEEPING NIGHTMARE.
The only things i have not done is powerflush complete system and /or removed secondary heat exchanger or change pump.

Does anybody have any idea`s.

Am Plumber of 20 years but to gas safe only 1

If you are gassafe then join the combustion chamber.im sure you will recieve loads of technical advice as needed
