Main combi wiring problem

I have a main eco combi boiler.My timer is Grasslin FM1 .There is on off and timer switch.Recently my timer stopped working.If I turned it on off manually the boiler was working fine.If I bring the switch to the clock , nothing works.So I thought I have a problem with the timer bought a new one from ebay.I put the brown wire on number 1, blue on 2 and the 2 black on 3 and 4.The new timer has 5 as well.Again if I turn it on off manually it is working but the timer is not.I have spent £28 on the timer and nothing has changed please help!

Have you put the clock in timed mode?
What is make/model of timer?

I put it on clock mode. The model is Grasslin FM/1 STUH.

Have you pushed the tappets fully out?
Does the clock run?

Ha ha no.The 0 and the clock symbols are next to each other.I was pushing it down to 0 thinking it is the clock. need to go to specsavers!
