main Earth wire

Can some one confirm to me that it is a 10mm earth cable you use to bond the main gas and water pipes at the consumer unit. Also is it a 10mm cable you take from the cable head as you main earth into the consumer unit.

I think it`s pme. It has a seperate earth block next to the cable head with the mains earth going in to it

10mm² to water/gas (altho some DNO's prefer 16)

16mm² from supply to MET/CU

You need to contact your DNO (distribution network operator) to find out what size main equipotential bonding (water + gas) needs to be installed.
