Mains Halogen Spotlights

Can someone provide an easy to follow diagram or explanation of how to connect these fittings into an existing lighting curcuit as supplied instructions are not very helpful. I am fitting three spotlights in a room and removing one pendant fitting. It is my intention that the existing pendant fitting will be occupied by one of the new halogen fittings. The halogen lights will be controlled by a dimmer switch fitted in place of the existing one gang switch.

Lucky to fit a recessed fitting where the rose is, if it is on a joist.

Hi securespark, No joists or other obstructions - good stuff eh!. Any info on method of connection though?.
