mains water- flushing

Can you flush out an air lock/ blockage using mains water supply?? I was going to connect via a downstair drain point.

my system has 10mm grey plastic pipe with push fittings???
 
I think its a air lock or a blockage, one rad up stairs and one down not coming on?? valve is getting warm, I have removed both of them but no sludge in there??
 
Rad valves jamming shut? - cheap ones do.

Shut all other rads to see if the chilly ones work.

Or remove rad and put hose on rad valve union, opening valve should allow flow to hose.
