making a small wall with obtuse angle

i want to build a small retaining wall (60-100cm tall) to hold back a privet hedge i will plant.

firstly, do i need to make it double skin or is single ok?

secondly, the wall is not an L shape with a simple 90 degree bend, rather it is an obtuse angle. so how do i go about joining the two sections. do i effectivley make seperate walls and join them with hidden ties?

maybe i need to get a brickie

There are various methods of making the angle. You can get squint angle bricks, or cut an angle in standard bricks and use ties to help hold the angle. You can also just let the brickwork overhang and not bother cutting.
If you are going a metre high then I would build a 9 inch wall. The roots from even a bush can easily damage a wall.
