Thanks so much. I'm originally from Leicestershire so up there a fair bit and could do a drop off no problem. Please do PM me the details. Much appreciated.

Any local metal fabricator could do that, it's not specialist.

    What size is yours?

    Hello

I know it was 18 months ago but I've discovered this thread today and was wondering whether you still had the details of the company that repair manhole covers and if so, could you kindly forward their details

    Thank you
Its about 650 x 500 - an old cast iron cover manufactured by Torwood Forge... I googled them and and they went out of business donkeys years ago. I've searched everywhere for a matching cover but whilst the size seems fairly standard, nothing I've found matches the curve of the corners...

    Zipadee,
I do not know who this was, but howabout a search for "manhole cover manufacturer Staffordshire". I see 192 show only two addresses in Staffordshire.

What about a Clark A15? No good for traffic though.

It's very easy to replace the lid and frame so you could fit any shape replacement.

If you want one custom made from checker plate like the guy above was offering your local metal place will be able to curve the corners and weld some strengthening to the underside. No need for £100 postage.

For the benefit of those who loom at this thread (I'm sure a moderator will remove if I'm doing anything wrong by posting this but I can't see why I would be as a customer)

The company details are below and I dealt with a nice chap called John Allen.

Assuming he still works there, his email is john@aquacastltd.com and his direct line is 01889 572626

    Aquacast Ltd,
    Unit 3 Power Park,
    Towers Business Park,
    Rugeley,
    Staffordshire.
    WS15 1UZ

Its standing up well nearly 2 years on, fit and quality were really good.

Drop him a line and he'll talk you through the process - I was close enough to drive over but otherwise use a courier service.
