Manhole in the way!

I have a manhole cover that is currently under my garage door. The problem is that I want to take the door out, block it up and just put a single door there. My only option at the moment seems to be a single wooden door over the manhole with bo threshold so there is still access. Just wondering if there are any other ideas?

If it's a foul water drain there isn't much you can do - if it's rainwater (less likely but worth checking) just take the lid off and seal it with concrete

Fill the drain with concrete? Not really a viable option is it? Maybe turn the lid upside down and fill the lid with concrete.
What are you using to block up the garage door hole? Bricks, timber studding and boards?
