Hi

I have just purchased a new property. It has no shower - a friend has suggested i put in a 'Manual Mixer' shower. Never heard of this before! but apparently it runs off the taps?

Can anyone provide advice of how good these showers are, and potential costs of unit ad installation?

Would i be better off spending a bit more and getting an electrician and install a power shower?

Thanks

He probably means to replace your existing bath taps with something like this

This will work well if you have a combi boiler with good water pressure or an unvented megaflow system.

Avoid electric showers if at all possible. They are expensive to run, and the water flow is poor compared to combi/megaflow fed showers.

The link I have included is only one of many different styles of these mixer taps. They are available in ancient and modern styles.

Depends on what heating/hot water system you have now. If you want to install a power shower then you wil need stored hot water & a cold water tank in loft. If you have a combi, you can get a thermostatic shower whereby you just run your hot and cold feeds to that or you can go for electric if you don`t want the expense of other options, over 8KW is a decent enough electric shower. Depends on your budget.
