Hey guys,

Ok as above I moved into a new house that was completed in July last year. Plaster is dry. In first room I applied an undiluted first coat of contract mat and ended up with the "mapping" effect which I then had to sand back. I'm assuming you all know what "mapping" is.

So moving to second room I applied a 70/30 mist coat and still the mapping appeared and had to be sanded back so I've concluded its and issue with the plaster! Slow, I know.

I am about to start a stairs and landing and there's no way I could sand that back so I've been searching for advice with some saying to use an acrylic primer, some saying don't and others saying run away.Unfortunately I can't do the latter as iit's my house.

I trust this site implicitly for advice so for me your word is final. What are my options here as I need stairs and landing painted for monday?
