Something just occoured to me (slow or what?),
Pre Margaret Thatcher, all of us on domestiics, had to make sure that by and large regs were adhered to otherwise connections would cost a revisit.
OK the REC chappy might have been a decent bod, or an absolute "Adolf Flamming ****ler " type but at least certain standards were maiuntained and random tested or no connection was made and a costly revisit needed.
She brought in self certification via the back door and all the problems it entailled.
Bad practice & dangerous installations.
Part P was borne to combat it, and what a fiasco ensued?
