marks on ceramic sink

Is there anything I could try to remove marks on a cermic sink.They are around the tap where it has been tightened up and has twisted thus leaving silvery black marks.Want to try and shift them before having to replace the sink

Try a "bath rubber" should be able to get one from a decent plumbers merchants, Think screwfix also do them.
