masonry damp stain blocker

Am looking for the above for an internal solid brick wall.
The wall is plastered and emulsioned, so ideally one that can be applied directly on to the existing emulsion.
The source of the damp has been eliminated.

Assuming that the wall is now dry- I would use a shellac based paint such as BlockAid or Zinsser Bin. They can be over painted after about 40 minutes. A cheaper option (if you have some) is oil based undercoat, but you will need to wait until the next day before applying the emulsion.
