Can someone tell me what usually is the thickness of exterior house walls as l need to drill a hole to get some cable from my dining room to the outside though the wall. Also can someone recommend the best drill bits to buy as the walls are not brick but mainly stone/concrete and when l have drilled walls inside to put things up the drill bits l have used are useless .. So best drill bits to buy and where can l get them.. Thanks

What age is your house? A normal cavity wall is about 13 inches thick including internal finishes. Although if you say your wall is made of stone and or concrete it's fair to assume its not typical contruction.

Easiest way is to measure the thickness at a window or door reveal.

As far as the drilling goes you really need to use an sds drill for what you want and a 20mm bit for the electrical conduit you should use to run the cable through.
