I have opened up the old airing cupboard to make extra wardrobe space. The original skirting board ends where the door used to be but I want the wall to run through the opening with no door. I am going to plaster across where I have exposed brick and add skirting where necessary.

It is olovo 120mm x 15mm which seems difficult to find ... Managed to find 3metres for £8 plus £12 delivery...?

Also has anyone got any advice on making the joint less obvious? I was thinking of layering up the new board to take away its sharp contour.

rather then trying to match whats already fitted.why not remove some of the original back to another door frame, then using the old match in the rest, this then allows you to have a straight run with the new this then makes it less painful on the eye.

the run which stops where the joint is goes back 3m to a corner. But I could still do that and get a 4m piece for that whole length and then use the original in the cupboard area to join it all up...

there you go,its all about aesthetics, and its an easier job then trying to pack out metric to imperial thicknesses.

Just hope I can get a long enough piece and that I don't pull too much plaster off the wall! Thanks for advice!

It only has to be close to look ok. I had to replace a bit recently. When I measured up I noticed we had 3 different sizes/shapes. We've lived here 6 years.

FWIW: OP if you run into further skirting wants then perhaps note that Ovolo 19(15) x 125(120) is commonly available. Ovolo is probably the most commonly available skirting after Torus.
