Hettie is married to Greig.
Mary is married to Willie.

If Andy's wife is present, we do not know her name.

Hettie can't be married to Greig.. as Mary is dancing with Hettie's husband, and Andy is dancing with Greig's wife..

but they might all be married to others who are standing watching the dancing? :confused:

When I posted last years maths homework, Softus came up with the right answer. I hope that he might look in for this years.

Four old-timers, John, Willie, Andy and Greig, take their wives to a tea dance. At one point during the dance, the partners were as follows:

Mary is dancing with Hettie's husband.
Andy is dancing with Greig's wife.
Greig is dancing with Willies wife.

Identify the married couples.
