Can someone tell me the difference?

I think we have matt chrome (brushed steel) sockets in one room but I find them too dark.

Are satin chrome fittings lighter in colour than their matt counterparts?

There is little or no difference between the two.
If you are after a brighter appearances, you may want to consider the polished chrome accessories.
