Max distance to boundary for vertical flue

I need to determine the best location to install a combi boiler. Am I right saying that a vertical flue must be at least 30cm away from the boundary?

I could not find the details from http://www.a1gassafe.co.uk/pdf/TECHNICAL_BULLETIN_231.pdf but https://www.worcester-bosch.co.uk/downloads/gas-hoziontal-and-vertical-flue-terminal-positioning.pdf seems to confirm my above statement, just wanted to make sure.

Presumably you mean min distance...it's a slightly grey area. A horizontal flue discharging parallel to a boundary is 300mm minimum distance. A vertical flue is usually also 300, but the original reason for the 300 distance is to avoid having the flue too close to a wall if the neighbour was to build up to the boundary line adjacent to said flue. Given that a vertical flue needs to be 500 from a vertical surface, you could technically argue that the distance from the boundary should be 500 where there's a theoretical chance the neighbour could extend their own property to the boundary line and create a vertical surface near your flue. In other words, you need to take into account individual site conditions.
