Maxtor MSS-II NAS box thing

Does anyone have an old one of these that they no longer want?

I really want to replace the circuit board in mine as it's gone horribly wrong and I can't get at my data.

Does it just run Linux?
If thats the case you can put the drive in a PC, boot up off a live cd (i.e. ubuntu) and get at it.
