Looking to use MDF as a collar on a turbine compressor. Does anyone know what temperature (no flame) that MDF will either significantly weaken or combust at?

MDF is basically timber fibres - so is paper. And Ray Bradbury's book "Fahrenheit 451" was (allegedly) named after the temperature at which paper spontaneously combusts, so....... 233 degrees Celsius?

Scrit

Sounds like a good place to start, for sure. Hopefully a somewhat conservative estimate also. Thanks.
