MDF cubes? glueing

Hi there,
i am planing to do some word turning and ideally i want to turn MDF into a sphere, so am looking for a manufacturer that makes cubes of MDF, i know that MDF by its very nature is fibreboard but i would like a cube, so if there is no one that does this could anyone give any advice for glueing layers of boards together to make a cube that would be strong enough to withstand turning.

Could you not glue and clamp several squares of MDF together to make a cube??

I'd imagine the "turned" result would not look to bad at all.
