MDF routed Handles

Hi there.

How can I make Invisible handles on 16mm lacquered mdf doors for my kitchen?

Can be routed?

Something like these doors

you would need at least 15mm and probably 18 mdf to router freehand and get a finger grip but practice will tell

you need around 5mm for the bearing to run on

so your suggestion is to get 18mm mdf and it will be ok if I routed it for making finger grip/...
