Having very good results from using 'Serviio' software streaming umpteen different video formats 'on the fly' (transcoding I believe) from my PC to my 2010 Panasonic TV (TV apparently only accepts MPG2-*s and Xvid, not really clear in user book).
I am using Devolo (wireless and wired capable) 'homeplug' type adapters - networking via our (old) mains wiring circuit to TV.
On reflection, twas' a bit of a minefield for a newby when buying yer smart tv - I guess (hope) things have changed apace since 2010 tho'.
I wish to move on to a home server or media server situation - Require several mc backups plus serving media (at least as good as my current experience say £500'ish) - Any suggestions from personal experience ?
