Buying the right type of memory card is a bit like buying the correct tyres for your car. There are certain tyres that will fit and others that won't. The handbook for your car tells you the correct size of tyre. It's then up to you to decide whether you buy Dunlop, Michelin, Bridgestone or whatever.

The same principle applies to security systems using memory cards. Find out what type of card is required by the recorder. Don't just buy any card and expect it to fit the slot. That would be like buying tractor tyres for your car.... a stupid thing to do.

Until you know for sure what recorder you plan to buy, and then what card type fits it, any further discussion about types of cards is utterly pointless. Decide your recorder first, then come back and ask about brands within that type of card.

How much will the device support? That one always gets people. Too much it will not record.
After that how long do you wish to record for?
Single camera or more?

You will probably need a SD or Micro SD card.
Get the specification of the unit and take it from there or post here.

Also better off asking in the Alarm and security forums than here.
