I do think they Could have made a better job of getting the outer sheath into the cable clamp with some more accurate core shaping and trimming though; it’s just on the edge and if the earth were shorter and the L/N a bit more 90’d it would have come through

The brackets do work... BUT constant un/plugging will wear the PB around the screws and eventually be very loose, particularly on double sockets where it's rotational force rather than simple in/out.
