Hello people

The zinc roof on the bay window of my recently purchased dilapidated 1904 terrace is past its best. I have been told that to replace my roof with lead would be the best option, and have been fortunate enough to find a roofer who specialises in lead roofs, and does lead welding. The jobs he has done look very high quality, he is a great guy and his prices are reasonable so of course I want to go ahead with the replacement. However I am worried that having around £300 worth of lead on top of my bay window will make it a target for thieves. Does anyone have any advice please.

Tell your roofer your worries and he should be able to make it harder for potential thieves.

It would be cheaper in zinc and worthless to thieves. You can't stop people from stealing the lead, if they want it they'll have it!

I would like it in zinc, but I can't find anyone that works with it near me. The original was zinc so it would be authentic too.
